NARS NAIL POLISH

Good morning everyone, so here is my latest nail polish purchase, ECUME (which is a shade of white) and DOVIMA (which is a shade of red) by NARS. Who else rotates between these two colours like me? I must say they are my most worn colours to date. This is what NARS have to say about their Nail polish, “NARS Nail Polish have been formulated for nothing less than pure colour perfection. It is wildly chic and this brilliantly curated palette of extended wear enamels features a flexible, high gloss finish for a freshly painted look that lasts.”

DOVIMA

So with Valentines day just around the corner Dovima would be ideal for a date night or for a day date too! Its the perfect shade of red for my skin tone. My previous red was more on the orange side but this NARS Dovima is more of a classic red. Just like trying to find the right shade of lipstick for your skin tone, the same can be said about nail polish too. You just have to keep trying and testing until you find that shade you want. This true red can create a sophisticated, glamorous, and timeless look. The fact that it takes only one coat to get full, opaque coverage is a bonus. The product doesn’t contain DBP, toluene, or formaldehyde. The consistency is great, it applies well, although I have found that it started to peel after one day. However, this might have been because I was constantly washing my hands using hot water. If anyone else has experienced this, please do let me now how you got on.

ECUME

Next and onto Ecume which is described as an “opaque white.” The description is correct as this is a pure snow white polish that’s opaque in three coats. I found it to be streaky with just one coat and therefore had apply three coats to even it out. The polish dries to a semi-glossy finish. This nail polish is very similar in consistency to my OPI white, which is one of my favourite whites to wear. It applies very easily and the brush is just great. I will have to wear it a few more times before I can decide whether it comes close to my OPI white, which I can wear and use hot water to wash my hand and it doesn’t peel. I really did have high hopes for these two nail polish. A tad bit disappointed that they didn’t live up to my expectations. I shall try to refrain from using hot water and see if that stops it from peeling and make it last for a few more days. Also might try a top coat too as I didn’t this time round.
