Good morning everyone, today’s post is on a beauty related one as you would have known by the title. So I have added another red lipstick to my collection, which by no means is an excessive one. Like most of you know, it can be an arduous process finding that right shade of red lipstick. I was on the hunt for another matte red lipstick, this time I wanted a non liquid one. So when I came across the Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Extreme Intense Matte Lip Colour in the shade 116 extreme, i knew it was the red for me!

I knew instantaneously as the lipstick was swiped across the back of my hand that I had found the right shade for me! Once I got home I could not wait to try out this gorgeous shade Extreme 116. The colour is pure, ultra-thin and highly concentrated in pigments, which delivers an intense colour. It’s a red that I can wear everyday should I choose to do so.

Now let me tell you about the beautiful packaging of the Chanel Rouge Velvet Extreme lipstick. Absolutely stunning, I wouldn’t expect anything less from Chanel. The lipstick comes in a black case which is in a matte black. Love the contrast of the shine bullet cover with the matte outer case. Also loving the click-up magnetic component of the lipstick, which is very handy. I find the packaging to be very elegant and minimalist.

COMPOSITION

As for the lipstick, it looks velvety and you can notice that it is a matte lipstick. The formula is very creamy and it does not dry out my lips at all, result! It is long wearing and can last up to 8 hours. Of course that depends very much on much you are eating through out the day. May have to retouch a little which I did as there was some transfer. Love the softness and I can build up the intensity with two or more swipes of the Rouge Allure Velvet Extreme.

Thanks to the combination of natural rice powder and magnesia which provides an extra-matte finish, softening and smoothing. They have also included a unique antioxidant complex, composed of sweet almond oil, sappen wood and vitamin E to reveal a radiant colour and protect the lips from external aggression. So comfortable to wear, there is a slight hint of a scent, but not at all overbearing.
