Good morning everyone, here are a few of my April favourite beauty products. They have been used frequently so far, and of course there will be a few items that have been used in previous months too. I have a few new products that I have purchased or been given, so I thought I would let you know what I think of them. I rarely change products and tend to stick to what I love. But there are times that I may come across a new product and love it!
Lets begin first off before putting on my tinted moisturiser/foundation I always wear my Shiseido SPF 50. I somehow forgot to include it in my pictures, oh well…. It is one of the best SPF’s I have come across, for someone with my skin tone most SPF’s tend to leave that ashy residue on my skin. This is lightweight and works very well without causing any irritation. I don’t need to apply any other moisturisers as the Shiseido SPF works rather on it’s own! The finish is not greasy or shiny, more like a semi matte. I didn’t experience any skin break outs and it sat nicely under my tinted moisturiser/foundation.
Huda Beauty Foundation:
Right onto my foundation here is another foundation that has been given to me by my sister as it wasn’t the right shade for her. I tend to wear tinted moisturisers on a daily basis therefore foundations are not always my go-to. Since I have heard so many good things about this foundation, I wanted to give it a go and see how it feels on my skin.
First off it wasn’t an exact match for my skin tone either it’s in the shade Chocolate Mousse. I think the shade Gingerbread would be better suited which is one shade lighter. So I decided to mix it with my MAC face and body, this did the trick and matched my skin. It is a full coverage foundation which goes on evenly and dries very quickly. It sure does give you that airbrushed look. Perfect for those special occasions as well as for photo shoots. I will be purchasing the shade Gingerbread, as I absolutely love it!
MAC Veluxe Brow Liner:
I love this eyebrow liner, it is highly pigmented and gives me precise application. It has a rich powdery texture which gives a matt velvety look. Features a high degree of temperature stability, making it ideal for warmer climates. Comes with a spoolie at one end to give you a perfectly groomed, finished look. My brows look very natural, also it lasts a long time and not like some of the other eyebrow pencils which tend to run out very quickly.
Chanel Les 4 Ombres 26:
Next and onto my Chanel quad palette that I am loving, I have an in depth post on it HERE. These quad eyeshadow palettes are absolutely one of my favourites on the entire makeup market. My shades are on the matt side, but they have a variety of effects in the form of satiny, iridescent or metallic. The packaging is so pretty as with all Chanel products, the quad comes in a practical and portable black lacquered case with a large mirror.
Rimmel Exaggerate Black Eyeliner:
This is a highly pigmented liquid formula which delivers a bold eye look. I use this everyday, I love a cat-eye liner and is my must have product. I can’t remember how many times I have repurchased this. The part of my morning routine that takes the longest is when I am doing my winged eyeliner. Therefore using a product that I am used to saves me plenty of time. It is priced reasonably for a drug store product and can last for up to three months in my case. It is a smudge-proof, long lasting product that lasts all day!
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer:
I’m sure it is the same for many of you! What more can I say than the fact that it is just awesome, so smooth and light it does not crease under my eyes. One product I have been repurchasing over and over again and always appears in my favourite picks!
Maybelline Mascara:
This is a great mascara, it does what it says and I can definetly see the difference. I have used high end mascaras before and was disappointed by a few of them. Maybelline Volum’ Express Lift-Up Mascara in black is just perfect at lengthening my lashes.
Laura Mercier Bronzer:
One of my oldest products, just adore the slight shimmer it gives to my cheeks with a hint of colour. It has been discontinued so I shall have to try and see how the new Laura Mercier bronzer is. In my opinion the shimmer is subtle and illuminating in just the right way and not too OTT like some others can be. I use this to contour my cheeks and it works really well to give it that slight colour that it requires.
Chanel Rouge Coco Baume:
A great lip balm that Leaves my lips feeling hydrated and smooth. It doesn’t create that disgusting white lip line in the inner part of the lips which some lip balm can do! I normally apply it on my lips at the beginning of my makeup routine so that it can moisturise my lips and get them ready for my lipstick application!
Lime Crime Velvetines:
Ok you have already heard me rave on about this Lime Crime Lipstick in the shade Teddy Bear. It is a beautiful nude that has been described by Lime crime as a lilac brown. A nude shade that adapts to each person’s skin tone differently. So for me the lilac comes through and is true to how the lipstick is described. The Velvetines formula dries down completely and is super comfortable to wear. The lipstick lasts absolutely hoursand dries to a beautiful, soft matte finish. It has the signature vanilla scent and looks truly beautiful on my lips, if I do say so myself.
Chanel Rouge Coco Adrienne:
I like to add a little depth to my lips and thereby wear this nude lipstick from Chanel only in the centre of my lips over Teddy Bear. Adrienne is a creamy pale beige with a slight hint of pink. This is rather easy to put on, feels moisturising, light weight and non-sticky. If you wanted to you can apply it in layers for a more intense colour on it’s own.
Nars Ecume Nail Polish:
For my nails I like to wear NARS Ecume which is described as an “opaque white.” The description is correct as this is a pure snow white polish that’s opaque in three coats. I found it to be streaky with just one coat and therefore had apply three coats to even it out. The polish dries to a semi-glossy finish, I will say refrain from washing your hands under a hot tap as it will peel.
Bleu De Chanel Eau De Parfum:
I know it’s a mens fragrance but I just adore the scent, it gives off an androgynous smell and in my opinion works well for men and women. I mean why not, if in fashion we can wear an oversized mens blazer I don’t see what is wrong with wearing a fragrance that is androgynous and smells divine!
