So here is my latest lipstick purchases, Teddy Bear and Red Velvet Velvetines by Lime Crime Cosmetics. I have not personally heard of Lime Crime before and was introduced to their lipsticks by my sister. After wearing Teddy Bear for the first time I was totally in love with this liquid lipstick, a beautiful lilac brown nude.
Inspired by the ‘bloom’ of rose petals, Lime Crime’s Matte Velvetines liquid lipsticks come in 28 array of shades. If you are obsessed with matte liquid lipsticks then these are a must to try out. My fear with matt lipsticks has always been that they can leave my lips rather dry. However, I have found that Lime Crime’s Matte Velvetines lend my lips a stunning, suede finish. Intensely pigmented and packed with skin-nourishing extracts, the French vanilla-infused formula feels comfortable and won’t leave my lips feeling dry.
Teddy Bear: Ok lets get started on this beautiful nude that has been described by Lime crime as a lilac brown. A nude shade that adapts to each person’s skin tone differently. So for me the lilac comes through and is true to how the lipstick is described. The Velvetine formula dries down completely and is super comfortable to wear. The lipstick lasts absolutely hoursand dries to a beautiful, soft matte finish. It has the signature vanilla scent and looks truly beautiful on my lips, if I do say so myself.
Of course if your eating or drinking you will need to touch up. I found that the lipstick wears away in the centre of my lips and it does not smudge all over ones face like some others can. Their packaging is so cute and pretty and this colour Teddy Bear has become my favourite nude thus far! Looks absolutely beautiful on, natural and can compliment many skin tones and hair colours. Just loving Lime Crime Velvetines at the moment! Added bonus here is that these lipsticks are Vegan and cruelty free, how awesome is that?!
RED VELVET: This is a highly pigmented matte red which is universally flattering, very similar to MAC Ruby Woo. It’s a deep red and has similar blue undertones like Ruby Woo and suits most people. It’s super bright and more of a true red in my opinion. The texture is super creamy and the lipstick just glides onto the lips and sets in seconds. You only need a small amount to cover the lips and precision application is required! As the lipstick is highly pigmented the staying power is long lasting. As I found out when it was time to remove it, but that was fine all you need is some wipes and your done.
It is non-transferable but can come off if you are eating or drinking a lot. On a night out I found out that I only needed to re-apply the lipstick once and again just in the centre of my lips. The lipstick itself comes in a cylindrical frosted finish glass bottle and it has a doe foot applicator. A touch-proof, transfer-proof, long-wearing lipstick that I am absolutely addicted to! Another red lipstick to add to my ever growing collection.
So there you have it, my two favourite Lime Crime lipsticks that I can’t get enough of. How have I not come across this brand sooner. I am quite sure I will be adding a few more Lime Crime Lipsticks to the two I already have.
