Weekend Get Away to Bab Al Shams

Good morning everyone and happy Friday! We decided to book this gorgeous resort Bab Al Shams which is remotely based away from the city in the middle of the desert and is just a magical getaway.

VENUE:

So this beautiful resort is nestled among the dunes, Bab Al Shams resort is the world’s favourite choice for dream desert getaways. What I love about this place is that it combines rustic charm with top-tier hospitality and luxury that gives an authentic desert experience. Our stay was for a long weekend it felt a little short for us and we said we would go back for longer next time. Just a great place to getaway for a relaxing and unwinding time.

Even though it is isolated Bab Al Shams is only a short 45 min drive from Dubai airport. There are plenty of things to do from, nature walks, camel rides and desert safari adventure. The pool is temperature controlled and faces out towards the desert the best view you can imagine. There is also archery ranges and falconry exhibitions. Outside, the resort’s desert ecosystem hosts gazelles, birds, geckos and other wildlife. Great way to see them is to take a 4×4 safari ride.

RESTAURANTS:

Al Hadheerah

The Al Hadheerah Restaurant is the centrepiece of the Bab Al Shams experience. You can either eat indoors or under the start, and enjoy the entertainment from live music, belly dancing and traditional instruments. This is where we also ate our breakfast every morning. The buffet style breakfast with an array of options you sure are spoilt for choice.

Al Forsan

The selection of food includes authentic Arabic cuisine complemented by international offerings comprising meat, seafood, poultry, pizza, hot and cold appetisers and a selection of oriental desserts.

Masala

We ate dinner here a few nights and the food was absolutely delicious. We enjoyed the traditional Indian curries and starters. You can enjoy you meal indoors or go Al Fresco to dine under the stars.

Al Sarab Rooftop Lounge

This two-level rooftop lounge offers the best views, it looks out over a stunning desert landscape. Great for watching the sunset. In the evening, the venue transformed, with dimmed lights, soothing music and the appealing aroma of the traditional Arabian shisha.

Pool Bar

What better way to enjoy the pool and the views of the desert. The pool bar offers a range of snacks, salads, sandwiches, and exotic beverages while relaxing on the sun lounger.

ROOMS:

The rooms perfectly capture the essence of Middle Eastern traditions, they are rustic and charming with the right balance of authenticity and modern comforts. Our view was out into the desert, such a wonderful way to wake up each morning. We had a wonderful time, albeit short but it sure was memorable!
