Lovely Travels To Dubai Part Two

So here is the second part of my vacation/holiday to Dubai. I felt there was too much too fit into one blog post and therefore have split it into two.

Monday

This was the busiest day of my stay here in Dubai. After a good nights sleep we woke up a little more refreshed. Having finished breakfast we all got ready and headed out to the Miracle Garden. An awesome place, just perfect for Instagram pictures. Absolutely beautiful and worth the visit, you will find yourself in a paradise of flowers. You can throughly enjoy the bright colours and the gorgeous art that has been created using the flowers.

Initially took a buggy ride around as we didn’t know how big the place was. It took us around fifteen minutes to go around the whole place. We then decided to walk around and take some pictures. Absorbing the amazing artwork that’s been created. As we stopped by the giant ants we heard a familiar voice behind us. Turned around only too see our friends, the couple we had met yesterday at the Rayna Safari Tour. It was so nice bumping into them again, such a wonderful couple and really friendly.

Next we headed to the Souk Madinat Jumeirah, here there is a combination of traditional Middle Eastern shopping culture of stands, barrows and stalls. There is a mix of boutique brands, home accessory stores, souvenir gift shops, luxury fashion and jewellery. The Souk boasts over twenty five restaurants from all over the world. Definitely spoilt for choice here when it comes to eating. Every Souk Madinat Jumeirah restaurant and café offers picture perfect views of the Arabian architecture, waterways or the iconic Burj Al Arab Jumeirah. We had a quick browse around as we didn’t have much time, our reservation for the Ewaan was at 1.30pm.

So dashing into the taxi we headed for the Ewaan restaurant. It is in the Palace Downtown which is located in downtown Dubai and five minutes from the Dubai Mall. A stunning hotel with an opulent setting  and great views of the Burj Khalifa. The restaurant offers a variety of exquisite food, a whole range of salads, cold and hot starters, fresh tasty seafood, sushi which was absolutely divine, roast meat, a whole fish cooked in salt crust. And then there is the desserts! To top it off the service is perfect, the staff are so friendly and helpful and not intrusive at all. Such a relaxing atmosphere that we could have been there for so much longer if we weren’t going to the Burj Khalifa.

Now to burn all that food we decided to take a leisurely walk to the Burj Khalifa, it took us around ten to fifteen minutes to get there. We didn’t buy our tickets in advance so once we got there we went and purchased them from the desk. So no waiting around as we also got the fast track tickets, which allows you to skip the queue only on the way up though. On the way down unfortunately you have to queue for a little while. The views are spectacular as you can imagine, we only went to the 124th and 125th floors.

After another taxi ride back to our hotel, we had a shower and started to get ready for dinner at the Tong Thai restaurant. Located in our hotel JW Marriott Marquis, it was our complimentary dinner the manager had organised. The interior of the restaurant is just gorgeous and the ambient is so soothing. The first thing you notice is the sea of red lanterns on the ceiling. Presentation of the dishes was exquisite and the cocktails were innovative, my virgin Pina Colada came in a coconut. The service is great although as we arrived at a busy time it was a tad bit slow. The food was delicious to say the least and we had a wonderful evening.

Before heading to our room, we decided to gander up to the 68th floor to check out the night club and bar. It was rather quiet being a Monday night, we had one drink and decided to retire to our room and call it a night. Wow what an eventful full day we all had, now I’m totally exhausted and can’t wait to get in bed.

Tuesday

Today we are going to take it a little bit easier and after breakfast we all headed for the pool for a relaxing morning. Lounging on the sun bed soaking up some sun and then taking a dip in the pool. I managed to get my sister to take some pictures for my blog. The setting was just perfect and she was more than happy to do it!

Our first stop was lunch at the ocean front restaurant and lounge Scape at the Burj Al Arab. This vibrant and chic venue presents a range of gourmet style dishes and signature beverages. Perched on the Burj Al Arab Terrace and extending over the Arabian Gulf, a stunning location. I could not resist and had to take some pictures for my blog. The backdrop was just too good not to take any pictures. The service and food is just impeccable and second to none.

Lunch over and photoshoot session later we walked to the Souk Madinat Jumeirah to take another look and buy some souvenirs for the boys. This time round we did not have to rush and explored all the shops we missed the first time around. After buying some gifts we jumped into a taxi and headed back to the JW Marriott Hotel Marquis. Once we got to our room we relaxed for a short while. Then we got changed again and headed out for dinner at this Jamaican restaurant called Ting Irie in Downtown Dubai. It was only five minutes away from our hotel by car. The food was great, although I would have expected my jerk chicken to have some more flavour. However, the atmosphere was great and the staff  were so much fun and engaging.

Wednesday

So off to our last breakfast here in Dubai, we chatted about how much fun we had here. I am going to miss my sister as she is headed back to Abu Dhabi. Finally packed all our belongings and checked out and headed for the airport.
