Good morning everyone, today’s post is a beauty related one as you would have gathered by the title. The M.A.C Retro Matte Lipstick in the shade Topped With Brandy is my latest addition. I have been looking for a matte liquid lipstick which is very similar to me my Lime Crime shade Teddy Bear. I am pretty sure by now that this one is just as good and I am loving it!

TOPPED WITH BRANDY

So like most of you it can be a long process to find that right shade of nude. Well the same is for me and when I do find it I tend to wear to death. Anyone else do that? So as I was walking past the M.A.C store at the Mall of Dubai, I stopped by and was after their Face and Body foundation. Unfortunately they didn’t stock it at this store, to my disappointment. Then my eyes went on to the liquid lipstick and I decided to test a few nude colours out. The assistant was very helpful and after a few swatches I opted for this gorgeous colour.

I have found the Retro Matte Liquid Lipstick to be very smooth with a mousse like texture. It is super pigmented and it lasts for a long time without drying out my lips. I just love the packaging as it is sleek and comes in this elongated clear bullet shape. This makes it so easy to see the colour you are looking for. The applicator is shaped in a doe foot which allows you to apply the product evenly and precisely.

This is how M.A.C describes Topped With Brandy, ” a deep dirty rose lip colour that provides a splash of colour in a liquid-suede finish that lingers.” It is long wearing and can last up to eight hours, the colour wears evenly and smoothly. It can provide a stay-true colour with non-feathering and non-bleeding.

For me it is the right shade of nude for my skin tone. However it can differ from person to person, I have heard from others that it can look much more of a deep brown colour. So make sure to test it out on your lips before purchasing. Here I am wearing it with a little bit of Chanel Coco Rouge in the shade Adrienne just at the centre. This just gives the lips a much more of a fuller look, of course you don’t have to do that if don’t want to.

TWO PIECE SET

I am wearing this two piece knit sweater and shorts from Nasty Gal. This cream set is so comfortable to wear for lounging around and they also have it in these colours dusky pink, bold pink, beige and grey. The Knit Happens Sweater, yes that is what it’s called comes in a relaxed one shoulder silhouette and puff sleeves. The matching shorts feature a tie closure and curved hems.
